You can choose multiple translation quality options on the same project. For example, as a first pass you may translate all foreign language documents to identify relevant languages and obtain a general understanding of the content. Then, human post-editing could be added to improve comprehension for portions of the machine translation output. Or you may identify a smaller subset of documents that require full human translation plus editing for greatest accuracy.
Custom bilingual glossaries can be created to keep translation engines humming with precise instructions on whether, and how, to translate outlier words, industry expressions, product names, and personal names.

STATISTICAL MACHINE TRANSLATION (SMT)
One component of Ai Translate by LSI™ (formerly STS) is our best-in-class translation technology platform. At its core, it includes 65 statistical machine translation (SMT) engines.
Each engine represents a single language pair and direction (e.g.: English > Japanese) — tested for accuracy and comprehension across millions of words before being released.
Statistical machine translation (SMT) is among the fastest and least expensive methods for translating foreign language content. However, in its raw state, it sometimes produces untrustworthy, inaccurate, and particularly incomprehensible results. Machine translation (statistical or neural) is most appropriate to derive the general gist from a very large volume of documents, emails, texts, or other digital content that needs to be categorized by subject matter and relevance.
Upon completion of a first pass, more precise translation steps, assets, and focus can be applied to a smaller set of relevant content. Ai Translate’s MT technology has nearly a decade of real-world use by hundreds of global law firms, corporations, and government institutions on thousands of projects.
NEURAL MACHINE TRANSLATION (NMT)
Ai Translate by LSI™ employs artificial intelligence within its translation services technology. Neural machine translation (NMT) engines offer significantly improved readability and comprehension of translated content because they look at multiple relationships before selecting the best combination of words.
However, using the same data, the statistical machine translation (SMT) engine is sometimes more accurate. It may be prudent to test for the same language pair in MT.
Neural machine translation (NMT) includes artificial intelligence-based machine-learning, so these engines can potentially get smarter with each successful translation. This saves you money because the engine is not looking at each similar translation as a first-time event.
Currently, Ai Translate includes more than 50 language versions of NMT. However, we roll out new NMT engines on a regular basis so the total will continue to grow.

This translation services option can improve reading and comprehension.
MACHINE + FULL POST-EDIT (FPE)
A level above the Human Light Post Edit (LPE) is a Human Full Post Edit (FPE). It can be ordered via Ai Translate by LSI™. Skilled translators spend more time on the revision of the machine translated content to improve syntax and fluency to more closely simulate a human translation. Reading and comprehension can be significantly improved via this step.
